We have had a busy couple of months to start our first grade year! Miss T. - our student teacher - had a fun experience with the kids - and I loved having such a great student teacher! We miss her already but we're hoping once she is graduated she will come back and visit us! The beginning of the year is always busy with learning routines and for me to learn more about each first grader - we do some assessments that don't really seem like tests to them - they are either doing activities with me one-on-one or we do our MAPS tests on the computer. It helps me to learn how they learn and where they are at in each academic area.
Onto the fun - Miss T. worked with us on some apple and pumpkin experiments for science! We read lots of books, completed math activities that went along with our experiments, wrote some stories or even wrote findings that we learned after being scientists!
